Our Story

Kings Youth Development Charitable Trust exists to expand access to structured sport, mentoring and positive opportunities for young people in Bream Bay, Whangārei and surrounding communities. We focus on the young people and families we serve, while drawing on the experience and coaching culture that began with Jason Kaihe and Kings Boxing Gym.

Trust Structure

Kings Youth Development Charitable Trust (KYDCT) is a registered charitable entity (Registration CC61823) with its own independent Board of Trustees.

While we enjoy a collaborative partnership with Kings Boxing Gym, the Trust operates as a distinct legal body focused exclusively on community outreach and youth empowerment.

The Board is legally responsible for the Trust’s strategic direction, ensuring full compliance with the Charities Act 2005 and the Trust Deed.

Our governance framework prioritizes transparency and ethical stewardship; this includes a robust Conflicts of Interest Policy to manage common interests between the Trust and the Gym, a comprehensive Health and Safety Policy, and a Child Protection Policy.

The Trustees oversee financial integrity, risk management, and the effective delivery of programs to ensure all resources directly benefit the youth of Bream Bay and Whangārei.
